Meeting planned Tuesday by Pasco Haven supporters in the wake of Pasco council’s vote against selling property for Catholic Charities’ affordable housing project

Greater Columbia Accountable Community of Health is holding a meeting Tuesday 10am at Benton Franklin Health District to hear from Catholic Charities what actions they’ve taken since Pasco Council’s decision and to learn how the community can best respond in support of Pasco Haven. Earlier this week, Pasco City Council narrowly voted down a property sale that Catholic Charities would have used to build 52-unit ‘Pasco Haven’ apartments for those struggling with homelessness.

The Benton County program helps veterans at risk of going to jail by providing them with a veteran mentor to support them during weekly court meetings and help them gain access to support services that they need. The program lasts 12-18 months, and successful graduates have their charges dropped or reduced.
