⭐️ Sara Nelson on Jennie:

“Jennie wrote Dancing with a Porcupine. It’s about raising kids with childhood trauma and how it nearly killed her. She learned effective parenting strategies and how to protect her health and sanity.”

🔥 What drives Jennie

I love helping people feel understood and to know they aren’t alone. I am especially passionate about supporting those parenting children with extra challenges.

🌈 Jennie‘s vision for the Tri-Cities

“We need more services for children who struggle with mental health issues and their families. I envision a center where families can find a variety of services geared toward helping these children heal.”

💪 Projects

Dancing with a Porcupine is our story of parenting three children from foster care who'd been through a lot of trauma. The book discusses issues like dealing with secondary trauma and compassion fatigue, as well as the self-care necessary to recover.

The goal of the book is to help parents parenting children with extra challenges know that they're not alone. It would also help those who work with these children and families.
